Wu Yee Children’s Services

County: San Francisco County
Issues: Education

Wu Yee Children’s Services was founded in 1977 by social workers concerned about the challenging circumstances of immigrant families in Chinatown, particularly when it came to child care for working families. In the years since our formation, Wu Yee has grown to a city-wide agency serving diverse populations, offering a comprehensive range of Child Development, Family, and Child Care Provider Services, including the Joy Lok Family Resource Center, Child Care Resource and Referral, child care subsidies, child care provider training, and the Family Child Care Quality Network. Our child development centers are located in Chinatown, the Tenderloin, Visitacion Valley, Bayview Hunters Point, OMI, Potrero Hill, and  Westside neighborhoods of San Francisco. Wu Yee means “protector of children” in Cantonese.
