Bayanihan Equity Center (Veterans Equity Center)
Founded as Veterans Equity Center, VEC was created to honor the valuable contributions of Filipino World War II Veterans by providing direct services, and advocating for full justice and equity. In 2017, we formally changed our name to the Bayanihan Equity Center. BEC has expanded its services to include low-income San Francisco seniors, people with disabilities, immigrants, LGBTQ, formerly incarcerated and homeless individuals. Although we’ve made some changes, we are still rooted in honoring the bayani (heroes) of World War II, while continuing to serve the new bayani: immigrants, low-income seniors and adults with disability, and etc.
