Board of Directors Spotlight: Carina Ruiz Singh
This year, the Asian Pacific Fund (APF) was excited to welcome Carina Ruiz Singh, Silicon Valley Managing Partner at Deloitte, as the newest member of our esteemed Board of Directors.
As part of APF’s board, Carina will help increase our impact by providing her knowledge and expertise to form and advance our strategic goals and increase our impact. Board members also serve important roles as ambassadors and advocates of APF’s work, helping to strengthen our development efforts, promote our work, and support our annual fundraising efforts.
Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I serve as the Managing Partner for Deloitte in Silicon Valley, which is our firm’s third-largest market. This role has given me a unique perspective on the importance of diversity and community support. My family and I immigrated from the Philippines when I was younger, and I have since been able to build my career here in the United States. I am also a mother of three wonderful kids: Aadev, who is 11 years old; Anselm, who is 9; and Nyra, who is 6. I am married to Vikram Singh, which means our household is a beautiful blend of mixed-race and religious traditions.
What inspired you to join the Asian Pacific Fund’s Board, and what excites you most in this new role?
I was inspired to join the Asian Pacific Fund’s Board of Directors because of my deep-rooted desire to support and uplift our AANHPI community. Throughout my career, I’ve noticed that while my firm supports various causes, there is always room for greater support to our AANHPI community. Through my role on the Board, I hope to amplify the importance of this support and drive meaningful initiatives that can make a tangible difference. What excites me most is the potential to leverage my experience and resources to create lasting change and foster a more inclusive environment for all.

As we look towards the next decade for the Asian Pacific Fund, what are your hopes for APF and our AAPI community as an APF Board Member?
My hopes for the Asian Pacific Fund and our AANHPI community are quite ambitious. I envision APF becoming a go-to community convener, a trusted organization with a clear and authoritative perspective on which nonprofits are truly making an impact on the AANHPI community. I see us being consulted by both government entities and corporations when it comes to issues affecting our community. By doing so, we can ensure that the voices of our community are heard and that effective solutions are implemented. I believe that with the right strategies and collaborative efforts, we can position APF as a leader in advocating for and supporting the AANHPI community.
