NBC Honors Growing Up Asian in America Winners for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month



NBC Bay Area and Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) congratulate the 2014 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Honorees in the Bay Area! Eight honorees will receive recognition at a private luncheon at the NBC Bay Area studio in San Jose. These honorees feature several exemplary members in the Asian American community. These public service heroes include, Shubham Banerjee, Dr. Albert Le, Dr. Donald Cheu, and Crisanta Raras. Also included among the honorees are four Santa Clara County students who participated in the Asian Pacific Fund “Growing Up Asian in America” program contest.

Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) is an Asian Pacific Fund affiliate and is the largest nonprofit organization focused on the Asian American community in Santa Clara County.  Founded in 1973, AACI’s mission is to improve the health, mental health, and well-being of individuals, families and the Asian community.  AACI’s services include youth development, primary care, mental health, HIV testing, education and prevention, substance abuse treatment, programs for drinking drivers, a Center for Survivors of Torture, problem gambling treatment, a domestic violence shelter, senior wellness services, and advocacy.
