Navigating Uncertainty: Building Bridges Between Funders & Nonprofits in 2025

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the Asian Pacific Fund (APF) hosted our first affiliate convening of 2025 at The California Endowment’s Oakland Regional Office.
APF recognizes the profound changes ahead for our affiliates and the communities we serve. This convening entitled “Navigating Uncertainty: What’s at Stake for All of Us?” was just the beginning of an ongoing conversation about how philanthropy is adapting and how nonprofits can respond with resilience and impact.
This convening aimed to foster new and strengthened relationships between funders and affiliates, providing nonprofits a clearer path to seeking foundation funding and encouraging strategic conversations where both sides learned to speak each other’s language and find common ground.

A heartfelt thank you to our expert panelists for sharing their time, insights, and expertise with our affiliates:
- Cindy Downing, Program Officer, The James Irvine Foundation
- Adam Fong, Program Officer in the Performing Arts Program of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
- Anand Subramanian, Senior Director of the People Pathway, San Francisco Foundation

Special thanks to all our APF affiliates in attendance for your active participation and unwavering commitment to our Bay Area AANHPI community. Our work is only possible because of your tireless dedication, and we are grateful to be in this work together.
