COVID-19 Recovery Fund
Since the start of the pandemic, nonprofits on the front lines have been tirelessly facing immense challenges. Thanks to the heartwarming generosity of numerous supporters, we were able to mobilize $1.25 million in 2020. However, we know that the enduring impact will be felt for months to come and we are continuing our efforts through our COVID-19 Recovery Fund, which has been recognized by Vox and New York Magazine. The fund will be distributed in grants to Bay Area nonprofits working to address critical issues including:
- RISE IN ANTI-ASIAN RACISM: The pandemic has contributed to a massive spike in anti-Asian hate incidents, attacks and discrimination. Read more about our focused efforts to address this here.
- HIGHER FATALITY RATES: The fatality rate from COVID-19 for Asians is nearly triple that of all other ethnic groups in San Francisco.
- LONGER UNEMPLOYMENT: Almost 50% of unemployed Asians have been out of work longer than any other ethnic group.
- INCREASED BULLYING: 1 in 4 Asian American youths experience racist bullying.
Please help us sustain our efforts and consider giving to our Recovery Fund today. For any questions, please email development@asianpacificfund.org.
Of the $1.25 million mobilized last year, $1.1 million went directly to nonprofits serving our most vulnerable Asians and Pacific Islanders, including 52 of our affiliates listed below.
