Regional Pacific Islander Taskforce

County: Alameda County / Bay Area & Beyond
Issues: Health & Well-Being

The Regional Pacific Islander Taskforce (R-PITF) (Fiscal Sponsor: San Francisco Public Health Foundation) was formed by community leaders in 2015 to address the lack of data and reporting on Pacific Islander (PI) health disparities and established the first-ever tri-county Regional Pacific Islander Taskforce in the greater San Francisco, Bay Area. The Taskforce is regional in focus, and the goal is to raise awareness and increase the visibility of PI health disparities, advocating for data equity in the collection, and reporting on health issues impacting PIs in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The Taskforce serves as an advisory council for each of the county directors of the Department of Public Health and their leadership in Alameda, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties to address Pacific Islander health and social disparities.
