The Fund specializes in monitoring emerging and urgent needs in the Bay Area Asian community and identifies specific priority areas for grants each year. Funding priorities for 2007 were citizenship and legal representation for immigrants, expansion of scholarship programs, and earthquake preparedness and recovery. Funding priorities for 2008 will be related to health education. Program beneficiaries are from diverse Asian ethnic communities, including Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Pacific Islander, Vietnamese, and other Asian and South Asian people.
